It all begins with an idea.
Contrary to popular belief, the process of creating a brass instrument by hand isn’t with a sheet of metal. Rather, we want to know what our customers have in their mind and how they envision themselves with the instrument of their dreams.
Once we have the concept of what our customers want, we begin the process by gathering the right materials and acquiring the best parts available.
Then we get to work.
We start with raw brass and begin creating our customers’ new instrument by molding, shaping, soldering, fitting, cutting, lathing, shaping some more, and so on. Once we have the rough shape of the instrument put together, we test it for intonation well before it’s finished.
Our crafting process doesn’t involve a step-by-step, cookie cutter approach. Rather, we take our time to make sure that every detail is accounted for as we go, with a final check for quality at the end of each project.
Style & Decoration
While many of today’s brass production companies use exact measurements and computer data to create brass instruments for mass production, our process involves creating instruments that modern techniques simply can’t replicate.
Each instrument is unique and to the specifications of our customer. We add flourishes and highly-detailed designs all done by hand. Every millimeter is accounted for while leaving room for the natural effect of the process itself.
Raw & Polished
Our instruments sound fantastic no matter what finish you choose to have on your instrument. Although we prefer the raw, organic look of unpolished brass, we also appreciate the glow of a fine, polished brass product.
No matter whether you choose to keep your instrument au naturale or want an instrument that gleams in the spotlight, we cater to any design that you can imagine.
